Lijst van Medicijnen

Op verschillende pagina's kunt u lezen over de bij IVF, ICSI en andere behandelingen gebruikte medicijnen. Ook op het internet kunt u verschillende merknamen vinden voor dezelfde medicijnen. Omgekeerd kunnen geheel verschillende medicijnen in diverse landen aangeduid worden met dezelfde merknamen. 

Bijvoorbeeld: Puregon is in Europa de merknaam voor recombinant FSH, maar in India is het de merknaam voor ongezuiverd urinair postmenopauzaal FSH. Wat Puregon in Europa genoemd wordt, heet weer Follistim in de Verenigde Staten, maar in India staat Folistim voor clomifeencitraat, een volledig andere stof. 

Soms worden dezelfde stoffen onder andere namen uitsluitend op veterinair gebied toegepast. Om deze reden geven wij van deze medicijnen en hormonen op deze pagina een opsomming. Veel merknamen zijn uitsluitend voor bepaalde landen geregistreerd, en in andere landen niet toegestaan (zoals in de VS, waar de FDA verantwoordelijk is voor de goedkeuring van geneesmiddelen) Contraceptiva en verwante combinatiepreparaten zijn hier niet vermeld.
