List of Medication Surfing the internet, you may be confronted with a plethora of names of different medicines. The same substances may have different trade names in some countries. Conversely, the same trade names are used for totally different drugs in various countries. For instance Puregon in Europe is a trade name for recombinant FSH, whilst in India it is unpurified urinary postmenopausal FSH. Likewise Follistim in the USA is the same recombinant FSH as Puregon in Europe, whilst in India Folistim is a trade name for clomiphene citrate, a totally different drug. Sometimes the drugs are for human use, sometimes the same drugs are only meant for veterinary use. Often they are only registered in certain countries. Some drugs are only available in certain countries but for instance not allowed in the USA. This does not necessarily mean that the drugs are inferior, just that they are not approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for use in the States. That is why we created this page that will give you a summary of different drugs in infertility. These pages will be updated on a regular basis. One has to take care; this page does not imply that the various medications are produced subject to the same stringent rules and regulations. These may vary from country to country. So the efficacy and safety of these medications may vary dependent on the various quality control under which they are produced.
